The Idea Behind PEACE AND LIFE
The PEACE AND LIFE symbol was created by a woman who has seen more than her share of suffering. From World War II to the senseless violence of Vietnam to the despicable acts committed on September 11th, 2001, she began feeling hopeless about the state of the world. She ended up creating a hybrid symbol of the peace sign and a life symbol found in the bible. She had this symbol made into a pendant and found that when she wore it, it gave her a sense of comfort and security, that everything would be okay. She realized that other people might want that same feeling. And so the PEACE AND LIFE symbol started getting put on pendants, t-shirts and other products – it turns out people want to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Change the World
If one person believing in peace and life can help change the world, imagine what can happen when many people believe in it together. That can be pretty powerful. And the great thing about a symbol is that it transcends languages.
